I love my neighbourhood
A Mr Li lives in Greenwood. He left a voice message for his grandson. Read his voice message and answer the questions.
Hey Jake, I hope you’re well at university. I just want to check in and see how you’re doing. Are you keeping up with your football practice? How are your roommates?
I’m doing well. I usually wake up early and go to the market to buy fresh food. I like the place because I feel happy to see all the colourful vegetables and friendly people. I also like to stop by the park to do some exercise on my way home. It’s a good way to stay healthy, and I always run into some friendly faces.
After lunch, I often play Chinese chess with some old friends in the park. I seldom win, but it’s nice to spend time with friends and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. There are often young children playing in the park and people singing songs. Before dinner, I sometimes go to the community hospital to check my blood sugar. It’s very quick and easy, and best of all, it’s free!
In the evening, I like to take a walk around the neighbourhood. I enjoy watching people dance in the square. I feel very lucky to live in such a great place. I hope to speak to you soon and hear all your news.
