A day in the life of a face - changing performer
Today is a big day for face - changing artist Wang Renli. She is going to
perform at her teacher Mr Ma's 80th birthday party. Wang studied face -
changing for 20 years, and she learnt everything from Mr Ma.
Wang gets everything ready for the show the night before. She gets up at
around 5:30 a.m., has a quick breakfast and jumps in the car. She needs to get
there early—it takes hours to put on her costume and masks and get ready.
The show is wonderful. She gets lots of cheers from all the people. After the
show, Wang talks to Mr Ma for a while. As always, her teacher points out
what to do to get even better.
Wang drives to her school to give lessons in the afternoon. Today her
students work on different skills: how to walk on stage, how to move their
fan and costume and, of course, how to change masks. Wang gives hands - on

The sun goes down. Wang drives home, tired but happy. She thinks back
