A

If you go to a park on a windy day in spring, you'll see kites fly high up in the sky. It's the best time for children to stay outdoors. There are many reasons why spring is the best time to fly a kite. First, the weather in spring is typically mild and warm. This makes it ideal for flying a kite, as strong winds can make it difficult to control a kite. Second, the days are longer. So there's more time for people to have outdoor fun. Third, the trees are not yet in full bloom in spring. So there is more space for people to fly a kite. Look! There are different styles of kites in the sky. How beautiful and lovely!
Kite facts
Not so many people know that kites were first made in China thousands of years ago. The ancient(古代的) Chinese were making and flying kites even before they were writing. Kites all have long strings(细绳). They keep kites from flying away. Kites can fly up high with a good wind. Each of them always has a tail. It makes the kite beautiful and balanced(平稳的).
Useful kites
Kites weren't just for fun. People also used them to do many other things. Before planes came out, some people put cameras on kites to take photos. 100 years ago some Americans used kites to learn about weather. Later some people used them for fishing.
How to fly
Never fly kites in the street or on the road. We can find a big playground or an open place. When we fly kites, we should be far away from wires(电线). If your kites are in a tree, don't climb to get it. Maybe you'll fall off. Ask your parents for help.

A young boy named Robin woke with a headache. It felt like there was something like a thunderstorm in his head. Robin heard about an old lady in the deep forest who might know a special way to cure this.
Robin started walking into the forest. After a while, he found the old lady's cottage.
“Hmm... headache,” the old lady said softly. She picked up a pencil and wrote:
“Starlight Feather: a bird’s feather that shines like a star.
Rainbow Berry: a single berry with all the colours of the rainbow in it.
Echo Shell: a small shell that tells the secrets of the forest.”
The old lady said, “Find these things, bring them back to me and your headache will be cured.”
Robin checked the piece of paper, “Starlight Feather”. High in the trees, he saw birds with different feathers. He tried to reach them, but they were too high. He sat on a rock and listened to their beautiful songs.
“Okay, I’ll try the Rainbow Berry now,” he thought.
He found a small area filled with colourful flowers. Lovely little berries were on some of the plants. He saw red ones, purple ones... every single colour. But he couldn’t find one with all the colours of the rainbow. The place was so pretty, so he decided to sit there and admire all the flowers and berries for a while.
Robin pulled out the paper once more. “Hmm, maybe the Echo Shell will be easier to find.”
He came to a small stream. The water made the soft sound in a gentle wind. Robin followed the stream, looking for an Echo Shell. Actually, he didn’t know what an Echo Shell looked like, but he just tried to find it.
It was getting dark. Robin returned to the old lady.
“Well?” she asked softly.
“I’m sorry,” said Robin, “but I couldn’t find any of the things you asked for.”
With a finger, she gently tapped the side of his head, “So how does your head feel now?”
“Oh!” replied Robin, quite surprised. “My headache is gone! No more pains, no more thunderstorms in my head.”
The old lady smiled and said, “Sometimes the answer is not the things we find, but the journey we take to find them.”
