① 一般过去时的构成
一般过去时用动词的过去式表示。

② 一般过去时的用法

Nora used to see us every Sunday. Nora 以前每周日都来看我们。(过去反复发生的动作，但现在不来了)
Nora would see us every Sunday.
Nora 以前每周日都来看我们。(过去反复发生的动作，现在来或不来不清楚)
③ 常与一般过去时连用的时间状语
yesterday、an hour ago、last week/night/month/year、the other day、in 1982、in the past、often、always、sometimes 等表示过去时间的词或短语以及 when 等引导的时间状语从句。
易错警示
① used to do 的否定形式为 did not/didn’t use to do 或 used not/usedn’t to do。
His mother used to be so forgetful. 他妈妈过去很健忘。
His mother did not use to be so forgetful. = His mother used not to be so forgetful.
他妈妈过去没有这么健忘。
② used to do 的一般疑问句通过提前 used 或助动词 did 实现。
You used to know him. 你以前认识他。
Used you to know him? = Did you use to know him? 你以前认识他吗?
