答案:
D;B;B;C;A;B;D;B;B;B
A
The blue whale is the largest living animal today. A blue whale named Isabella travelled a long way in the South Pacific. She was first seen near the Galapagos Islands, off Costa Rica. Later, she was seen off the coast (海岸) of Chile in South America. These places are about 5,200 kilometres apart.
Blue whales live in all the world's oceans, but they stay in deep (深的) water. They are hard to find. Long ago, whale hunting almost made them disappear (消失). Now their numbers are growing, but they are still in danger.
Each blue whale has special spots (斑点). Scientists use these spots like fingerprints (指纹) to tell whales apart. They look at the area around the whale's dorsal fin (鳍) to see these spots. This helps them know if they are looking at the same whale in different places or at different times.
Isabella is not the only blue whale that travels far. Whales often migrate from Chile to the Galapagos. In summer, the southern Pacific has lots of krill (磷虾),which whales eat. But in winter, they go north to the warm waters near the Galapagos. There, they have their babies. Scientists think the warmer, calmer waters and fewer big whales that eat baby blue whales make it a good place for birth.
