Fire can be very frightening, but don’t worry. If a fire starts in your home, stay calm. Having a plan could save your life.
Part 1
If you are woken up by the sound of your smoke alarm, remember:
STOP — THINK — ACT
◆ Stay calm. Wake up all of the members of your family.
◆ Find a way to the nearest exit. Never use the lift.
◆ If the door feels hot, DO NOT open it.
◆ When you are safely outside, call the fire service at once.
◆ Don’t go back to the house for any reason until the fireman tells you it is safe to return.
If you can’t find a way out, you must use the second part of the plan.
Part 2
If you have to go through a smoke - filled hallway or room, go down on all fours(四肢着地).
◆ Find a window that you can go through, and get all the family into the room.
◆ Always pass children down first.
◆ Remember — NEVER JUMP!
