Cornbread is a tasty and healthy food. You can bake it easily at home. Let's learn it step by step.
• What we need:
2 spoons of butter 1 onion, finely cut into little pieces
1 ear (穗) sweet corn 2 large eggs, beaten (打好的)
1 cup of corn flour Half cup of buttermilk
3 spoons of all-purpose (通用的) flour 3/4 cup of cheese
Half spoon of baking powder (发酵粉), salt and pepper
• How to do:
• With the flat (平的) end facing down, stand the corn on a cutting board. Hold the top and carefully run a small knife down each side to remove the kernels (玉米粒).
• Put the butter in a frying pan and melt (融化) it over a low heat. Add the onions and fry for 15 to 20 minutes until soft and golden.
• Add the sweet corn kernels to the pan and cook for 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and wait for it to cool down.
• Heat the oven to 200℃. Prepare an 8-inch round cake pan.
• In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, corn flour, buttermilk, flour, baking powder, a little salt and pepper, and most of the cheese with a wooden spoon. Add the cooled onion mix.
• Pour the mixture into the pan. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes. After 10 minutes, add the rest of the cheese and bake again in the oven.
• Leave the mixture to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before taking it out. Best served (端出, 上菜) warm.
