B
Our class trip to Blue Mountain last week was very special. Before we left our classroom, our science teacher,Ms. Lee said,“Today, use your eyes and ears instead of your mouth.” Then she gave each of us a small notebook(笔记本)to write down what we saw and heard.
At first, not talking made me feel strange. I kept wanting to point things out to my friends or laugh at funny moments. But as we walked deeper into the forest, something changed. I started noticing small things I used to miss—birds making sounds, leaves moving in the wind, and even the smell of plants when we walked on them.
Then something wonderful happened! A young deer(鹿)came out from behind some trees. It was close to us—about 2 metres away! I stayed very still(静止的). The deer looked at us,moved its ears, and then kept eating grass. Ms. Lee told us later that animals don't run away when people are quiet.
After the walk,we talked about what we noticed. My friends heard five kinds of bird sounds and found a small river they had never seen before. I wrote down sixteen different nature sounds in my notebook—more than ever before!
This trip taught me something important:when we stay quiet in nature,we can see, hear and feel much more than usual.
