二、阅读理解。
阅读下面两篇语言材料,然后按文后要求做题。
A
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily. She thought happiness was getting lots of toys. One day, her parents took her to a poor village. There, she saw children who had few toys but laughed while playing simple(简单的) games.
Back home, Lily started to notice other things that made her happy. She found joy in helping her mom bake(烘焙) cookies, the smell filling the kitchen. She also loved reading bedtime stories with her dad.
One rainy day, she shared her umbrella with a neighbor and saw a big smile on his face. That made her feel warm and happy inside. Lily then realized that happiness wasn't just about having things. It was about sharing, loving, and enjoying the little moments.
Just like in the book The Little Prince, the most precious(珍贵的) things in life are often the simple things, we should look for happiness in our daily lives, like Lily did. Because the real secrets of happiness lie in our hearts and the kindness we show to others.

A lion lives in the forest, but he is not very happy—some chickens live near him and they make much noise in the morning and the lion is always angry.
One day, the lion comes to a smart man and says, “I am the king! I need your help.”
The old man smiles, “OK, the king. What worries you?” The lion says angrily, “The chickens are noisy! Every morning, they wake me up with their terrible songs! How can I stop them?”
The old man smiles again, “Go to visit the elephant, and you will find the answer.”
The lion goes to look for the elephant. Before he sees the elephant, he hears the “thud” sound(跺脚声) of the elephant's feet.
The lion runs to the elephant quickly, only to see that the elephant is stomping(跺脚) and he is very angry.
The lion asks the elephant, “Why are you so angry?”
The elephant shakes(摇晃) his big ears and says, “Some flies(苍蝇) always want to fly into my ears! And they never stop!”
When the lion hears that, he says to himself, “Everyone has problems. The elephant is so big, but he is afraid of small flies. The flies trouble the elephant all the time, but the chickens only sing once a day. Why do I complain(抱怨) about it? It is only a little thing. The chickens' songs just tell me it's time to get up and it is good for my health.” The lion lives happily ever after.
