The earth is around 4,600 million years old. Modern human beings have lived on the earth for only 35,000 years. But we have changed our planet a lot during that time. We have done something good, but more are bad for our planet.
Water pollution
Water pollution has made a lot of fish die. Factories have polluted the land and the water so that many lands, rivers and lakes are no life. There are no plants in the lands, and no fish in the rivers and lakes.
Air pollution
In big cities, air pollution is mainly caused by factories, cars, trucks and buses. Many people in cities now are in bad health. For example, Mexico city was a beautiful and sunny capital before, but now it is always covered with thick brown clouds.
Soil pollution
In order to have a good harvest, most of the farmers use too much chemistry in their fields. That polluted the soil. But it is difficult to prevent this kind of pollution.
Hope for the future
Pollution is bad for our health, so all of us should take action to prevent all kinds of pollution. If we can stop these pollution, our earth will become more and more beautiful and we'll live longer and healthier. Let's be greener people!

With the help of sunlight, the plants and animals remove most chemicals from the water, making it cleaner. Then the water can be reused for washing or bathing. It can't be used for drinking or cooking, but people can use it to water the flowers, wash the dog or swim.
