A day in the summer holiday, Jim and his friends were playing football outside a big house. They were playing happily. But Jim kicked the ball too hard. It hit the window of the house and fell into it. The window was broken. The lady in the house picked up the ball and said to Jim, “You naughty boy! If you don’t pay to mend the window, I won’t give the ball back to you!” Jim said, “I am sorry, madam. I’ll ask my father to mend it.” Then he left. After a few minutes, he came back to the house. He pointed to a man far behind him and said to the lady, “Look! My father is coming.” So the lady gave the ball back to Jim. Jim left with the ball quickly. The man mended the window. He said to the lady, “Five dollars, please!” The woman was surprised. She asked, “Aren’t you the boy’s father?” And the man asked, “Aren’t you the boy’s mother?”
