The greatest and best - known Chinese philosophers (哲学家), Confucius, Mencius, Mozi, Lao - Tzu, and the military strategist Sunzi, all came from the Zhou Dynasty in China and the time of the Hundred Schools of Thought. Philosophy is the search for knowledge and understanding of nature and meaning of the world and of human life. In other words, it’s about thoughts that teach people lessons about rules and life.
Confucius is famous for his philosophy because he made many famous sayings in ancient China that helped many people learn about the world, and human behaviour (行为). He also helped the state government and the kings by teaching them lessons on how the kings should rule their state successfully.
Although he lived over 2,000 years ago, people still remember and respect him for his contribution today. Confucius was born in a poor family in 551 BC. His father died three years after Confucius was born, so the family lived a much harder life.
Later, in order to make Confucius receive a good education, his mother took him to Ludu, where his grandpa lived. The city was well developed at that time. His mother died when Confucius was 17.
Confucius once worked as a keeper of a market. And then he was a farm worker who took care of parks and farm animals. When he was 20, he worked for the leader of his area because of his hard work.
