In China, the Double Ninth Festival is in October or November. It’s a festival for old people. At the Double Ninth Festival, people usually climb mountains, eat Double Ninth Cakes and enjoy chrysanthemums. On this day, many people visit their parents and grandparents. Many students visit old people in the Old People’s Home.
There is a festival for old people in the US too. It’s Grandparents’ Day. It’s on the first Sunday in September. People always send cards, give gifts and do fun activities. Some people also send flowers called forget-me-nots.
