people are still mainly living on fishing. They fish and eat fish. They build houses, boats and
make clothes with fish skin.
Fish skin products are made of the skin of northern cold-water fish. The skin of cold-water fish has certain thickness and softness. Not all fish skin can be made into clothing. Before the 1950s, most Hezhe people liked to wear clothes made of fish skin, mainly trousers, gloves and long dresses for women. They wore the clothes to celebrate their all kinds of festivals.
Some young people develop and create modern fish skin paintings using the traditional fish skin cutting, so that the ancient fish skin culture extends(扩展) to tourism, art and other fields.
