As the famous saying goes, "After visiting Jiuzhaigou, other waters seem pale (苍白的)." Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park in Sichuan is a wonderful place. It is a world full of ever - changing colors. What's more, it's colors change with the sunlight and the season.
The Five - Color Pond (池), as its name suggests (寓示), has multicolored (多彩的) waters. There are more than 2,300 such ponds here. The water in them looks colorful because there are special minerals (矿物质) in it, and the changing light also makes the water appear (呈现) in different colors.
The waterfalls there are amazing, too. The Pearl Beach Waterfall (珍珠滩瀑布) is the most famous. It's about 200 meters wide and the highest part is about 40 meters high. The water rushes down from the top of the mountain like thousands of pearls falling from the sky. On sunny days, rainbows often appear above the fall.
From September to November, the forests around Jiuzhaigou turn into a sea of colors. The leaves become red, yellow and orange, making the mountains and waters look like a beautiful painting. It's the best time to visit Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park.
