(1)fight作名词，意为“战斗；搏斗；斗争”，常用搭配有：get into a fight with sb. 与某人打架；the fight for sth. 为……而战；the fight against sth. 与……的斗争。例如：
The fight against the bad guys in the movie was really exciting. 电影里与坏人的斗争令人兴奋。
Our country has made great progress in the fight for blue skies and clear waters. 我国蓝天碧水保卫战成效显著。
(2)fight也可作动词，意为“打仗；打架”，常用搭配有：fight against/with sb. 与某人打架/战斗；fight against sth. 与……作斗争；fight for/about/over sb./sth. 为……而战。例如：
Everyone should fight against smoking to protect our health. 每个人都应该抵制吸烟，以保护我们的健康。
They fought for freedom. 他们为自由而战。

【要点精讲】
thousands of意为“数以千计的；成千上万的”，用来表示不确切的、数量很大的概数，后面接可数名词的复数形式。它所修饰的名词作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。例如：
Thousands of people come to visit the Great Wall every year. 每年有成千上万的人来参观长城。
There are thousands of books in the library. 图书馆里有成千上万本书。
【拓展】
类似表达数量概数的短语还有：hundreds of数以百计的；millions of数百万的；billions of数十亿的。这些短语的用法与thousands of相似，都接可数名词复数，且修饰的名词作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。
