When I was a middle school student, I was poor at English. I seldom (很少地) spoke English for fear (害怕) of making mistakes,because I thought my spoken English was not that good. So every time my parents asked me to learn English harder,I usually turned a deaf (聋的) ear to them.
Luckily,my English teacher Miss Ma could read my mind. To make me more confident,she spent part of her spare/free (空余的) time helping me with my English. And she also gave me some good suggestions (建议).
Miss Ma always said interest is the best teacher. So she often talked about the culture (文化) of English-speaking countries with me. She also shared English songs and movies with me. Slowly,I fell in love with English. Even my tiny (微小的) progress made her happy and proud.
Miss Ma has always played an important role (角色) in my life. After graduation,I chose to be a full-time (专职的) teacher. Now I still keep learning English,because I want my students to receive a good education (教育).
