一、阅读理解
Fox once saw Crow fly off with a piece of cheese in her mouth and she stood on a branch of a tree.
“That’s for me, as I am Fox,” said Fox, and he walked up to the foot of the tree. “Good day, Mrs Crow,” he cried. “How well you are looking today; how beautiful your clothes are; how bright your eyes are! I feel sure your voice must surpass(胜过) that of other birds, just as your body does. Let me hear but one song from you that I may welcome you as the Queen of Birds.”
Crow lifted up her head and began to sing as best as she could, but when she opened her mouth, the piece of cheese went to the ground, only to be eaten up by Fox.
“That will do,” said he. “That was all I wanted. In exchange(交换) for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the future. Do not trust flatterers(奉承者).”
