A 19-year-old girl Zara Rutherford has become the youngest woman to fly alone around the world in January 2022.
She took off in western Belgium and the journey covered 41 countries in 155 days—a little longer than she expected because of the trouble on the way.
"I made it," Zara said as she reached Belgium.
Zara flew through wildfires, typhoons (台风) and low temperatures along the way. "The hardest part was flying over Siberia—it was terribly cold and if the engine (发动机) was to die, I'd be hours away from being saved," she said.
Through this flight the young flyer hoped that more women could follow their dreams and do whatever they might be interested in.
"Growing up, I love aviation (航空), but I don't see many women doing that. I just always think that is quite sad," Rutherford told the reporter. "I hope that I can encourage girls to go into this field."
Rutherford has just started university in 2023 with the dream of being an astronaut.
"Whether it is being an astronaut or flying across the world, they are not easy things to achieve, but just go for them," she said. "If you don't try and see how high you can fly, then you'll never know."
( ) 1. What can be known about Rutherford's journey?
A. It took less time than expected.
B. It was always full of happiness.
C. Its start and end were both in Belgium.

A. She could manage the engine.
B. The situation was very serious then.
