四、阅读理解。[2024漯河临颍期中]
Nobody can say he is the strongest in the world. Everyone should live in peace with others because no one can know what will happen the next second. The story below may remind us that there is always somebody stronger than us.
One day, a mosquito(蚊子) went up to a lion and said, “Everyone says you are the strongest animal on land.”
“That’s right,” said the lion. “I am big and strong, and I have sharp(锋利的) teeth.” But the mosquito told the lion, “I don’t think so.” He was going to fight against the lion, and he was sure to win! The lion thought that the mosquito could never win because he was a thousand times stronger than him.
“Here I come!” cried the mosquito, and he flew towards the lion’s face. The mosquito landed on the lion’s nose and bit him again and again. The lion tried to bite the mosquito with his teeth, but the mosquito was too small. The lion couldn’t catch it at all.
“I give up!” said the lion. “Please don’t bite me anymore.”
“I won!” shouted the mosquito as he flew away. But he didn’t notice where he would go and flew into a spider’s web(蜘蛛网). No matter how hard he tried to get out of it, nothing could help.
The mosquito thought how strange it was. He beat a big lion, but a tiny spider could defeat him.
