英式英语和美式英语
English is spoken in many countries, but there are some differences between British English and American English. For example, in British English, people say “lorry” while in American English, they say “truck”. In Britain, they call the first floor in American English the “ground floor” and the second floor in American English is what they call the “first floor”.
The spelling is a bit different, too. “Colour” is the British way and “color” is the American way. Also, when it comes to pronunciation, there are distinctions.
Some words that are common in one version might not be used as often in the other. But don’t worry! People from both sides can still understand each other easily. Whether you learn British English or American English, you can communicate with people around the world.
