Have you ever been to Xitang Water Town?
Xitang Water Town is a small ancient town on water. It is in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province, China, near Hangzhou and Shanghai with convenient transportation. It takes just about 90 minutes by bus from Shanghai or Hangzhou. Xitang is famous for its bridges, alleys and sheltered corridors.
There are 9 rivers running through Xitang, dividing it into 8 parts, with stone bridges, quiet streets, and corridors running throughout the town.
Inside the town, there are many buildings built during the Ming and Qing dynasties. These old buildings have lots of historical value.
Throughout the town, every family lives near the water. In the morning, water runs under bridges, thin mist (薄雾) is like silk, walls on both banks stand tall and houses are reflected in the water. In the evening, the setting sun shines softly and songs come from fishing boats. The whole old town is like a poem and a picture.
Being in Jiashan County in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, Xitang enjoys convenient transportation. Visitors who travel to Xitang usually need to go to Shanghai or Hangzhou first, and then go to Xitang.
It is suggested to plan a one-day trip if you want to visit such a wonderful sight.
