Qu Yuan was a great poet and good official. He loved his country deeply. He jumped into Miluo River after his country’s being defeated. People threw a kind of food named zongzi into the river to feed the fish in order that they wouldn’t eat Qu’s body.
Now on the Dragon Boat Festival,Chinese people enjoy a one-day holiday to remember Qu Yuan. People have different activities,including eating zongzi and having dragon boat races and so on. The dragon boat races are the most exciting part of the festival. All the teams practice hard so that they can become the winners.
Many western countries hold dragon boat races every year,like Sweden,Canada and the USA. The Dragon Boat Festival is becoming more and more popular around the world.
