Most children love playing with toys. What about making toys and giving them to others in need?
Students at a middle school in the USA did so. They made toys using a 3D printer (打印机) in the Science class. They did a wonderful job and made many wonderful toys like a red and blue soccer table, a catapult (弹弓) and a scooter (滑板车). And they hoped they could make many more toys!
But these toys are not for themselves. They will give them to poor children. “By doing so, students not only become more interested in Science, but also feel that they can help others,” Science teacher Kate Bruzinski said.
Bruzinski taught the students how to use 3D printers. They printed parts of toys. They worked together as a team. They drew pictures for the toys, found materials and then built them. They spent as little as six to seven weeks on the toys.
Justin, one of the students, worked hard. He spent much time thinking about how those children would like the toys. He, together with other students, felt that they were doing something to help the poor children live a better life.
Soon, these toys will meet their owners. Students are happy about that.
