It's a hot summer day. A crow(乌鸦) rests in the desert(沙漠). He is very thirsty. He wants to drink some water. He flies around and looks for water.
After flying a long time, he finds a glass jar(罐子). There is a little water in the jar.
The crow is very excited. He puts his beak(鸟喙) into the jar to drink the water, but he can't reach(够到) the water.
The crow doesn't give up(放弃). He finds many pebbles(鹅卵石). He picks up a pebble and drops the pebble into the jar. The water goes up a bit(上升了一点点). He keeps collecting(收集) pebbles and dropping them into the jar.
There are a lot of pebbles in the jar now. The water is close to the top of the jar. The crow can reach the water now. He drinks water happily.
