Ⅱ.阅读理解
Benny and Gilbert are best friends who love going on adventures together. One day, they decided to take a trip far away from their village. They packed their bags with food and supplies, excited about the journey ahead. However, the trip turned out to be much longer and more challenging than they expected.
After walking for hours, they soon ate up all their food. They were tired and hungry. In the heat of the moment, Benny got angry and said something bad to Gilbert. Gilbert didn't say a word. Instead, he walked out of their tent, picked up a stick and wrote in the sand, "Today, my best friend said something bad to me."
After a short rest, they continued their journey. They were much happier when they found a river. Both Benny and Gilbert were excited and rushed to drink water. Suddenly, Gilbert slipped and fell into the river. He couldn't swim. Without thinking twice, Benny jumped into the water and pulled Gilbert to safety. After a few minutes, Gilbert woke up. This time, he wrote on a stone, "Today, my best friend saved my life."
After they got back, Benny was very curious. He asked Gilbert, "Why did you write in the sand after I said something bad to you, but on the stone after I helped you?" Gilbert smiled and explained, "Wind can take away my words in the sand, but those on the stone will be there for years." They looked at each other and both laughed happily.
Benny was touched by Gilbert's words. He realized that true friendship is stronger than any argument and more valuable than any treasure. From that day on, their bond became even deeper and they promised to always support each other, no matter what challenges they may face.
