"The Green Wall Initiative" is a fun project that helps students protect the Earth by growing gardens on walls. It began in 2007 with the African Union. In China, Urban Middle School in Beijing was the first school to join this project.
At the school, students learn about caring for plants, working as a team and using eco-friendly ideas. Each class gets a special(特别的) wall space. Together, students plan their garden, pick the best plants and take turns watering them. They even write down how the plants grow taller every week!
These green walls make the school look beautiful. They also help clean the air and keep the city cooler. Students use what they learned in Science classes to make the gardens thrive. They also practise teamwork and learn to care for their school community. Now, many other schools are joining in! Everyone hopes to share the idea of protecting our planet through these amazing living walls.
