These days, students spend much time on computers or smart phones for fun. But do you know what games your parents played when they were children? Here are some of them. Maybe you can put down your phones and have a try with your friends.
Turned Rope
The game begins with a string(绳子) on fingers. There are two ways to play it. One is just for one person. He or she takes one step each time to make a cool shape with the string. The other way is for two persons. They take turns to change shapes. When they can't make a new shape or the string is mixed up, the game will be over.
Rubber Band Skipping
There are usually three players with a rope of about 4 metres long in this game. Two players stand face to face. They put the rope on their ankles(脚踝) first and make it straight. The third player(the jumper) then stands between the two sides of the rope and finishes some moves without making a mistake.
Paper Folding
It's a kind of paper folding for guessing. People write four directions(方向) outside the paper and some other words inside, such as colours, jobs, numbers and so on. A kid lets others choose one direction and asks how many times he or she moves. Then others can guess before the kid shows the final result.
Chicken VS Eagle
One acts as the eagle, one acts as the hen and the others act as the chickens. The game goes like this: the “hen” and the “chickens” stand in a line, with the “hen” in the front to safeguard the “chickens”. The “eagle” should try to catch the “chickens”. If one “chicken” is caught, “it” should act as the “eagle”.
