五、(合肥市肥西县模拟改编)阅读理解。(20分)
I used to be shy and I didn’t like to be noticed. I listened carefully in class but never answered the teachers’ questions.
After I joined the basketball club, everything changed. At first, I thought it was crazy(疯狂的)because I didn’t have the ability to keep up with the others in the club and they would laugh at me. But my teacher kept asking me to go for it. I agreed and decided to try.
Taking the courage to try was only the half of it. When I first started attending the practice courses, I didn’t even know the rules of the game. That made me feel really stupid(愚蠢的). Luckily, I wasn’t the only “new” one at the game, so I decided to learn about the game, do my best, and not to find any excuse.
I practised a lot. Soon I knew much about the game and learned the movements from the coach. Being part of a team was so exciting. Very soon I had some basic ability though I didn’t have much confidence. As time went by, I learned how to play basketball and how to work together. I have changed a lot since then. When having class, I often raise my hand to answer the teachers’ questions. I have got much praise. More importantly, now I have more confidence in myself.

答案:
1. B 2. A 3. C 代词指代题。根据“I didn’t even know the rules of the game. That made me feel really stupid.”可知,作者甚至不知道比赛规则,这让他觉得自己很蠢。That在此指“不知道篮球比赛的规则”这件事。4. B 信息排序题。根据“At first, I thought it was crazy...”可知,最开始作者认为加入篮球俱乐部是一个疯狂的想法;根据“I didn’t even know the rules of the game. That made me feel really stupid.”可知,然后他不知道比赛的规则,这让他觉得自己很愚蠢;根据“Being part of a team was so exciting.”可知,接下来他为成为队伍的一部分感到兴奋;根据“More importantly, now I have more confidence in myself.”可知,现在作者更自信了。
