Not long ago, I went to Shaanxi Province for vacation. It is very famous for both its long history and its rich culture.
The first place I visited there was the capital (省会) city, Xi'an. Xi'an seems very fashionable (流行的) and was once the capital of 13 dynasties(朝代) in history. So it has seen the rise and fall of time. This makes Xi'an an interesting place for visitors around the world.
I followed a guide to see the amazing Terracotta Warriors (兵马俑). I think it was the best part of my trip. Why? For 2 reasons. First, all of them have different looks. You can see the standing warrior (勇士) as well as a bending (跪) one, the wide - faced warrior as well as the long - faced one, also the one having a hat and another not. Can you believe how real and vivid(生动的) they are? Also, my guide told me that though Terracotta Warriors now looked dark yellow, they were once beautifully in bright colours. Can you imagine how great and colourful they were?
In the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, I saw the bronze chariots and horses(青铜马车). When they came into my knowledge for the first time, they were just some pictures and words in the textbook. And the teacher told us, “When they were found, they were broken(损坏的) into more than 3,000 pieces. It took the experts 8 years to repair them.” The museum introduction says they are the earliest and biggest to be found in China. There's no other chariot and horse as heavy and big as them in this world. Standing right in front of the chariots and horses in person, I finally understood why people call them “the king of bronze”.
During the journey, the relics (遗迹) in Shaanxi brought me one surprise after another. They seemed to come to life from the textbook. How great it is to learn about history through my own eyes! I believe I will have more exciting trips in the future, but one thing for sure is that I will never forget this one.
21. What is Shaanxi famous for?
A. It's famous for its delicious food.
B. It's famous for its friendly people.
C. It's famous for its long history and its rich culture.
22. How many dynasties was Xi'an the capital of?
A. 12. B. 13. C. 14.
23. What colour are the Terracotta Warriors now?
A. Bright colour. B. Dark yellow. C. Black.
24. How long does it take the experts to repair the bronze chariots and horses?
A. For eight years. B. For seven years. C. For nine years.
25. What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A. The trip to Xi'an will be an unforgettable trip.
B. The writer thinks the trip in the future will be more exciting than the trip to Xi'an.
C. The trip to Xi'an is the most exciting trip.
