Giving gifts is a kind of knowledge, is also one kind of strategy (策略). In the western countries, you should be careful of giving gifts. Never give a gift in a job interview or at a business meeting. Flowers are good, but remember: roses are for special love. You have to be careful.
A small cultural gift from your country is usually very good. Make sure that your gift is packed(包装) nicely. A nice card with it will be better.
