The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a bell tower. It is famous for its tilt(倾斜)to one side. Located behind the Cathedral of Pisa, the tower has become a symbol of Italy. It is the third oldest building in Pisa's Cathedral Square.
The tower was not designed(设计)to lean, but because people built it on soft soil it gradually tilted to one side. Even though some people don't think the tower is a full building because of its tilt, the tower has won a special place in history. There are seven bells on top of it. It is said that you must visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa during the day. At night the shops are closed and it looks just so - so. However, if you visit it on a full moon night, the tower looks fantastic.
