It is said that Zhang Zhongjing invented(发明)Chinese dumplings about 1,800 years ago. One day in winter, Zhang saw many poor people with frostbitten(冻伤的)ears on his way home. He wanted to help them. He decided to put mutton, chillies and some medicinal herbs in dough skins. He made them into the shape(形状)of an ear. Then he boiled(煮)them in water and gave them to the poor.
