《2024年中学英语听读导航七年级上册译林版》

B
Like most of my friends,I get about 30 a month as pocket money. This may seem a lot,but it’s not enough for all the things a teenager (青少年) needs. And then it is not always easy to get the money. I don’t know why,but on the first Saturday of the month—Pocket Money Day,parents don’t have any cash (现金)! It seems strange that my father is always able to find the money to buy things at the supermarket but can’t find the 30 to give me!
Of course, when they give you the money, you then have to listen to a few stories like “When I was your age...” Stories about when they were your age,I don’t know how many years ago, they had to live on 1 for five years.
Anyway, the first thing I do when I have the money is to forget about any family birthdays that month. You and your family must realize (意识) that if you have to buy birthday presents with your pocket money, you won’t have any money for yourself!
What do I buy with my pocket money? Well,I think that most of the money goes on football. A pair of socks cost about 8 while a pair of football shoes can cost up to 27. Then,of course,I go out to fast food restaurants and cinemas. But you don’t need to be Einstein to realize that if you have only 30 a month you can’t go out very often. Today’s teenagers may seem very rich, but in fact (事实上) they aren’t. Only parents have no idea about how expensive life really is and they think we have a lot of money! We don’t get too much, but too little. Instead of 30 a month,we should get 80 a month!
Unluckily,my parents don’t agree (同意) with me.
