Chinese Boys Shine in World Street Dance Contest
Two Chinese boys made history in a world street dance competition. Song Haoming,10,from Jiangsu,and Fu Junxi,14,from Guangxi,won the semifinals(半决赛)at the Juste Debout World Finals in Paris on March 3,2024. They beat(打败)strong teams from other countries. This is China’s best result in this event!
Their dance was special because they mixed Chinese kung fu with street dance. They used moves(动作)like “drunken fist”(醉拳)and “tai chi”(太极). All the dance steps were created(创造)by themselves.
Fu Junxi started learning street dance at age 5. He practices 2～3 hours every day after school. Dancing helps him manage his time well. Song Haoming loved dancing since he was 3. He often repeats a move hundreds of times to make it perfect(完美的).
“We want to show the world that Chinese street dance is unique(独特的),” said Song. Next,they plan to add “lion dance”(舞狮)and “face - changing”(变脸)to their performances.
