B
To my surprise. I changed my mind after talking with an old couple happily. The other day, I walked past an old couple who was sitting on a bench. I heard them talking about me. The old woman said, “The girl is really tall. 180 centimeters tall?” “Maybe over 180 centimeters.” the old man said. I hated what they said and felt angry. As a girl, my height always made me embarrassed. And as a shy girl, I didn’t like people who stared at me in an impolite way. So I turned to them and looked them in the eye. The woman said in surprise, “Can the girl understand what we said?” I nodded and replied, “Yes, I can.” They felt a little embarrassed. They looked at me with a smile and explained that they were very sorry and they were only curious about my height. In fact, they also wanted to chat with me if I was not busy. We talked a lot. I shared my life and my dream with the couple. They weren’t strange any more. They were like my neighbors with warmth and love.
I met several similar situations before talking with the old couple. I am a foreigner, and maybe I am too tall as a girl. In any case, I felt uncomfortable. I just want to live here quietly, So I try to lose sight of them.
Talking with the old couple makes me realize how important it is to change my mind. Some Chinese are curious about me. The situation can’t be changed by me. But I can change my mind about it. I can’t be influenced by it. I should face it with positive attitude, and it will also reward me with sunshine.
