Mother's Day is a time of memory and celebration for moms. It is a time of breakfast in bed and family gatherings.

The earliest Mother's Day celebrations came from the spring celebrations of ancient Greece. During the 1500s, England celebrated a day called “Mothering Sunday”.
During this time many of the poor in England worked as servants for the rich. As they worked far away from their homes, the servants would live in the houses of their employers(雇主). On Mothering Sunday the servants would have the day off and were encouraged to return home and visit their mother churches with their mothers and other family members.
In the United States, Mother's Day was first suggested in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe as a day offered to encourage peace. Ms. Howe would hold Mother's Day meetings in Boston every year.
Ana Jarvis, from Philadelphia, began a movement to set a national Mother's Day in 1907.
