①As technology becomes a part of our classrooms, students are using more digital devices to learn. But is this really the best way to learn? Some people from older generations think that using paper notebooks is better than using more digital devices.
②My daughter, born in 2003, didn’t use many screens until she started middle school. She used many Apps for her lessons, but I didn’t like it. The lessons on the iPad were not as interesting as her paper books from primary school.
③Seven years later, my son got a laptop on his first day of middle school, and I was worried. But soon, the school said they were taking back the laptops and only using them for certain classes.
④Research shows that paper notebooks are better than digital ones. Many studies have found that students who write notes by hand learn better than those who type (打字).
⑤For a long time, notebooks were very important in studying. Even famous people like William Shakespeare and Isaac Newton used them. They wrote something important on their notebooks.
⑥But in today’s world, we can find information easily on the Internet, some people think that writing by hand is old-fashioned. However, using a pen and paper is still important, especially in school.
