It is summer now, and we can often see storms. Although they often happen, some people don't take them seriously. In fact, they're very dangerous for people and they can even make people die at once.
So how do we keep safe during a lightning storm (闪电风暴)?
If you are indoors, keep away from windows and doors during a lightning storm. Don't take a shower or do some dishes. You mustn't use the phone. Lightning could travel (传导) through the phone lines and hit you.
If you are outdoors during a lightning storm, never stay under a tree, because the lightning could hit the tree and travel through the tree to hit you. Stay away from anything that is made of metal (金属). Try to get in your car and close all the windows or go into a nearby building right away. If there's no building around, try to find a low place to stay in. Squat down (蹲下) near the ground and put your hands over your ears. Never use a mobile phone, either.
