Once upon a time, there was an old man called Yu Gong. There were two big mountains near his house. They were so high and big that it took a long time to walk to the other side. Yu Gong decided to move the mountains. But his neighbour, Zhi Sou, laughed at him and thought it was impossible. Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died. His sons and grandsons would live and grow, but the mountains would not get bigger. Finally, a god was moved by Yu Gong and sent some gods to help him move the mountains.
