Cleaning up the leaves in a neighbor’s yard, baking a cake for a sick friend, helping someone with his or her homework and walking your grandma’s dog are all good deeds (行为).
A good deed is something that is done out of kindness or friendship.
Kids can do lots of good deeds. Last week, I was tired because we had a new baby dog in our house. It kept waking me up all hours. My son noticed this and did his own good deed. He volunteered to keep the dog in his room for one night so I could sleep well.
Whether it is something for your parents, your grandparents, a neighbor, a friend or even a stranger, there are lots of different ways to do good deeds.
Good deeds come from the heart, so remember not to expect to be paid. You will get rewarded by doing them. Sometimes it’s a thank - you note, a hug (拥抱), or a smile. Most importantly, you will have a good feeling inside you.
When you help a person, he will probably help someone else in return. Imagine a world where everyone helps each other and how nice that would be! You can start it yourself by doing one good deed.
