Ⅱ. 阅读理解(20分)
A
Pipa, a traditional Chinese string(弦) musical instrument with a history of over 2,000 years, has always been popular among Chinese children who learn music.
The diversity(多样性) of its sounds and the beautiful look have drawn so many music lovers.
A summer camp, founded by pipa player Zhang Hongyan has been held at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing to teach pipa to children.
As part of the annual(每年的) Gateway to Music Festival, one of Beijing’s biggest art festivals for children that has been staged during the summer vacation since 1995, the pipa summer camp marked its 13th year in 2024.
On July 13th, over 70 children performed at the Forbidden City Concert Hall after a three-day-long training. Coming from Shandong, Shanxi and Fujian provinces and Beijing, the children, from those who have learned to play the pipa for several years to those who touched the musical instrument for the first time, displayed their skills on stage. Music works, such as Dance of the Yi People and Sun of Homeland, were performed.
Zhang was very happy to see many young Chinese people love to play the pipa. She said, “Arts education is a key aspect(方面)of what we do as professional musicians and educators. Teaching helps not only the students a lot, but also the teachers in many ways.”
“It’s an important experience for children who have never played the pipa to have an access(接触的机会) to the ancient musical instrument through taking part in the summer camp. Some of the children even decided to take pipa as a professional career in the future,” added Zhang proudly.
