The Importance of Trees
Trees are useful in three very important ways.
The first important way is providing man with food, wood and other products (产品). Trees provide (提供) food not only for man, but also for many animals. Without trees, many animals could not live on the earth. It's not easy for man to live on the earth, either.
The second important way is giving man and animals shade (阴凉处). For example, on a hot summer day, people are eager to have a rest in the shade of a tree after walking a long way. You can think how important the shade of a tree is to man and animals.
