I can still remember my primary school homework on animals. I choose to write about the whale (鲸). I love it from a young age.

I’m not quite sure why I love it. It might be something about its shape. It has a smooth (光滑的) shape, and its tail looks like a heart. It also moves so slowly and beautifully. This way, it seems very clever.
So one of my best memories is when I see a kind of whale called the orca (虎鲸) in Canada. Watching it moving smoothly in the water, I feel happier than ever. It is so beautiful!
I am also interested in whales because they need our protection. That’s what my school homework is about—animals we need to protect. Whales play a big part in the ocean. So protecting whales means protecting the whole ocean.
