The Farmer and the Snake
On one cold day in winter, a farmer was working in the field. He saw (看见) a snake. It was nearly dead (差不多要死了) with cold. The man was a warm - hearted man. He took (带) it home. He laid (放置) it near the fire, and got it warm. But when it grew warm and felt pleasant, it tried to bite (咬) the kind man. So the man killed (杀死) the snake with a stick (棍子).
