Once upon a time,there was a queen who lived in the palace. She wore silk clothes,ate fine meals,and had many servants but she felt unhappy.
“How can I learn the secret of happiness?” said the queen.
“The beautiful moon and stars make me happy!” said one of her servants.
The queen just said,“I get angry. I cannot take them!”
“What about music?” asked another.
The queen answered,“It sounds nice—but fades into the air and is gone!”
The next day,the queen went to the market. Suddenly,she saw a woman carrying a lot of firewood and leading some goats. She wore an old red coat,but had a wide smile on her face.
“That woman seems to be truly happy! It must be her magic coat!” The queen went up to the woman. “I will give you a piece of gold for your red coat!” she said. When she put the coat on and soon realized that she did not feel any different.
“It must be the woman's firewood!” So the queen went back to the woman and bought the firewood for two pieces of gold. She proudly lifted the firewood over to the woman. Surely,it must be the goats. The queen went over to the woman. “I must have your goats! I will give three pieces of gold!” Then she set off for her palace with the red coat,the firewood,and the goats.
“What a wonderful day!” the lady thought to herself. “The sun is warm,and the wind is cool. And best of all,the queen has given me so many pieces of gold. Things just keep getting better and better!”
