Water is the lifeblood of the Earth. It is everywhere around us. It runs through mountains and valleys. It forms rivers, lakes and oceans. Water is also in the air.

Water is very important for living things. Without water, there can be no life on the Earth. All animals and plants need water. Humans also need water. We need water to drink, to cook, to do some cleaning and so on. But we are short of water now. We should save water in daily life.
Clean water has no colour or smell. But polluted(受污染的) water is dirty and it has a smell. It can make humans, plants and animals sick. We need to protect water. To protect water is to protect our life.
