Once upon a time, there was a boy named Nils. He always played tricks on(捉弄) others. So no one liked him.
One day, Nils caught an elf(精灵) and played tricks on him, too. The elf was very angry. He turned Nils into a very little boy and then he left quietly. Nils asked the animals where the elf went, but they wouldn't tell him. Nils was very sad.
At that time, Nils saw some wild geese flying in the sky, and Morten, his home goose, was going to follow them. "Oh no! You can't fly away. " Nils jumped to Morten and tried to catch him. But right then, Morten flew up. He took Nils to the sky. Soon, Morten began to fall behind the wild geese, but he didn't give up(放弃). When it was getting dark, the geese stopped by a lake.
Morten was very tired. "Come on, Morten," Nils said. He fed him on water. To thank Nils, Morten caught a small fish for him. "It's so good to have a friend," Nils thought.
Morten flew hard every day. The wild geese began to like Morten. But they still didn't like Nils, because he was a human.
