There is no doubt that human activity has an effect on the environment. Some people say that human activity has made the earth a better place for us to live on while others don't think so. I agree with the latter opinion.
To begin with, people are causing problems everywhere. Looking around, we have changed the environment a lot. It's hard to see the blue sky in many places and there are fewer forests covering the land, which are homes of many different animals. Another problem is that waste water is being poured into the sea by many factories. The environment is getting worse and worse.
Furthermore, although the planet gives us everything we need, we are killing it. We are taking too much of what we want without giving anything back. We are cutting down trees without planting new ones and hunting too many animals.
What's more, we usually think that the more things we have, the better our lives are. I think that this is just causing more and more problems. Global warming is caused by waste gas, such as carbon dioxide. Things such as oil and coal will be used up one day in the future. People need to use renewable (可再生的) energy sources, such as solar energy and wind energy. Making energy in these ways causes less pollution.
In a word, if we want to live in a better world, we must protect our earth from now on.
