Friday, March 24th
We arrived in the hot, wet city of Bangkok. This is our first trip to Thailand. All the different smells(气味) here made us want to try the food. So we ate something special for dinner tonight. The hotel we chose was cheap but very clean. We planned to stay here for a few days and then travel to Chiang Mai in the north.
Monday, March 27th
Bangkok is wonderful and amazing! The places here are interesting. We visited the famous market on water and bought a lot of fresh vegetables and fruit. Everything was so colourful and we took hundreds of photos! Tomorrow we will leave for Chiang Mai. It will take us four hours to get there by train. Then we will catch a bus to Chiang Rai.
Tuesday, March 28th
Our trip to Chiang Rai was long and boring. We visited a small village in the mountains. The villagers here love the quiet life—no computers or phones. They are very kind. They always smile and say “hello”. Larry and I could only speak a few words of Thai, so smiling was the best way to show our kindness at that time. I felt good here and hoped to come back next year.

Last month, Jeff and his family had a special vacation.
